I've always had a fascination with buttons and loved going through my mother's and grandmother's button tins. This unique, pretty assemblage is made entirely of vintage buttons. There are two oval mother-of-pearl buttons with carved accents in brass settings, a filigree mirror back button(popular in the 1940's and prior), set in a round brass filigree base, and two smaller mother-of-pearl buttons. One has an oval crystal and the other a vintage"bow" flat back crustal. They are all set on a half-circle of solid brass. The chain has been antiqued to match and has two vintage Swarovski crystals. This is not a large piece, it's about 2 3/4" wide and an inch deep, but it's a lovely addition to a simple white shirt or a sundress. The chain measures about 18", and it closes with a brass flower toggle. These are very unusual and intricately detailed buttons, and the necklace is truly one of a kind.
