Spinning for Love

in: Necklace

How many of us played that "loves me, loves me not" game when we were little? In our neighborhood, we pulled little petals off dandelions. Well, here's the nostalgic grown-up version, a solid brass hear charm with a working spinner.  And the necklace is special as well.  I made repurposed it from an antique piece circa the 1930's.  The original had glass pearls which had an awful lot of wear, so I took it apart and gently cleaned the beautiful brass filigrees.  (These are cast metal, not stamped, with a lot of intricate detail).  I added new cream Swarovski crystals and create an asymmetrical design that also incorporates the original brass clasp.  The new version closes with a brass clasp and has a chain extender as well.  It's just lovely the way it sits on the neck.  It's always really enjoyable to me to bring something back to life for a second go-round.  The pendant is about 1 1/2" high, and the necklace is 19".  This is an artisan designed piece that will never be replicated.  Lovely to combine with the Bee Mine earrings. https://www.raspberryfieldsdesign.com/product/bee-mine
